A poem dedicated to the beauty and mystery of the oceans of our planet…
The ocean of blue, the traveler, the explorer,
it reaches every bay, every rock, every corner.
It touches our souls for the life it brings
the crashing waves a song they each sing.
It echoes and laughs to the ends of the earth
a circle of life, of death and rebirth .
People they greet you, they give you their praise
all life and creation you dream and create.
I ponder your origins still yet unknown
since the beginning of time you breathe and grow.
An endless rhythm of ebb and flow
new life you bring, new forests you grow.
To question your existence is to question life itself
I search for your secrets in depth myself.
A clear and crystal reflection of rays
the sun greeting your gentle humble waves.
It flickers and dances in the world below
shedding light on the mysteries of the deep unknown.
The fish and turtle delight in your song
they dream of a world where we can all belong.
And in the distance I hear a voice down below
dark shadows it echoes, its face not to show.
The soul of the ocean itself calls out
come save me I’m crying my future in doubt.
Ever flowing the water it knows no end
it called our ancestors way back when.
It hears our calls, every sound every word
the sacred serenity of life and birth.
Imagine the things the water has heard
it is knowledge and oneness with the presence and Earth.
I think to myself of those who came before
if they knew the secrets lost on the ocean floor.
Those secrets that drift down into the abyss
lost with the flow of time and bliss.
I know one day, our lives will align
your joyful noise will bring us a sign.
And once a again a family we shall become
humanity and nature living as one.
So to the ocean I sing out a harmonious song
I am coming back home to the place I belong.
